Baked Southern banana Pudding

BUTTER

NILLA WAFERS

MILK

BANANA

FLOUR

VANILLA

EGGS

SUGAR

In a heavy bottom saucepan, melt the butter and whisk in the flour. 

Add the milk to the mixture slowly, whisking constantly. 

To the mixture, add in the sugar, salt, and egg yolks whisking constantly.  Bring to a boil and cook until thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon. 

Combine the egg whtes and cream of tartar in a large bowl and beat until stiff peaks are formed.

Layer the pudding, vanilla wafers, and bananas 2-3 time sthen spread the top with the meringue before baking 15 minutes until golden.
