Sour Cream Lemon Cookies

INGREDIENTS 1/2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1 tsp lemon zest 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup sour cream 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 4 cups flour

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.  Add in the vanilla, lemon zest, and egg.  Once combined, mix in the flour, salt, and baking powder until a dough forms.  

Divide the dough and place between two pieces of parchment paper.  Roll to 1/4"=1/2" thick and freeze for 15 minutes. 

Cut out the cookies in desired shapes and cook for 6 to 8 minutes then set aside to cool.

While the cookies cool, combine butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, lemon juice, and milk until desired frosting consistency. 

Spread icing over cookies and add sprinkles if desired.  Refrigerate iced cookies for up to 7 days.
