Layer the cake with icing between each layer then coat the outside with a thin crumb coat. 

At a 45-degree angle, pipe a vertical stripe of frosting from top to bottom.  Then add 3" long horizontal stripes with 1" between each from top to bottom. 

Continue this process with vertical line first, then horixontal stripes, then vertical, and so forth until completely covered. 

Cover the top with green icing like grass, swirls of white icing, Easter sprinkles, or egg shaped candy.
