FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE

Wake up to a favorite sweet breakfast in casserole form! An easy make ahead overnight French toast recipe!

prep: 15 minutes Rest: 4 hours cook: 45 minutes

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:  Brioche bread, eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, butter.

Cut bread into 1" cubes then spread evenly across the bottom of your prepared baking dish.  This is best when using stale bread.

In a large bowl, add the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla and whisk them until no streaks of egg remain and it is light yellow.

Pour the egg mixture over the bread then cover and put into the refrigerator.  In a separate bowl, make the crumble, then cover and refrigerate it also for 4 hours.

Sprinkle the top of the casserole with the crumble then bake for 45 minutes.  Once baked add berries and powdered sugar before serving. 

Serve this French toast bake with honey, syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh fruit and a side of your favorite breakfast protein!
