This simple potato bread is a great way to make a sandwich roll. Soft, and moist, this is a perfect sandwich roll!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED: 1/2 lb. potatoes 6 tablespoons sugar 1 packet yeast 2 teaspoons salt 3/8 cup butter 4 3/8 cups all-purpose flour 1 egg 1 teaspoon water
Start by cooking the potatoes until tender. Then mash or rice and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine some of the potato water, sugar, yeast, and salt.
Now stir in the riced potatoes and egg and stir to combine.
Then, add flour to the bowl and begin kneading. Knead until dough is elastic.
Once the dough is elastic, you will put into an oiled bowl to rise for an hour.
After the dough has risen, punch it down and cut into 12 pieces.
Put the rolls into a prepared baking dish and then let rise another hour.
Brush the tops of the dough with melted butter before baking as directed.
This bread is the perfect choice for toasting and using a as a base for a sandwich or a side with any entree.
