This delicious cake is filled with creamy tres leches syrup and topped by freshly whipped cream and berries!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED: flour, baking powder, whole milk, salt, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and powdered sugar.
Sift the dry ingredients together in one bowl. Then separate the eggs, and to the egg yolks, add granulated sugar and beat.
Now beat in the milk and vanilla extract. Set this aside once it is light and fluffy. You will be mixing with the dry ingredients next.
In a clean bowl, add the egg whites and sugar and beat until soft peaks form. This is going to be foded into the cake batter.
Now, mix the wet into the dry ingredients, and once it is combined, fold in the egg whites being careful not to deflate them.
Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes.
While the cake cools, whisk together the 3 milks until combined. Then, poke holes into the cake all over the top.
Pour the tres leches syrup over the cake so it soaks into the cake. Then, top with whipped cream and fresh berries. Chill until ready to serve.
Serve the moist cake with fresh berries or shaved chocolate over the top. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 1 week.
