SOUTHERN STYLE SHRIMP & GRITS

This recipe is the perfect fast and easy meal that is never fails to leave everyone giving it rave reviews!

INGREDIENTS:  2 1/2 cups Chicken broth 2 cups Milk 1 cup Grits 6 slices Bacon 4 tbsp Butter 1 lb. Shrimp 3 Green onions 1 Garlic clove 2 cups cheddar Salt & Black pepper

In a medium saucepan,  bring the milk and chicken broth to a boil, then whisk in the butter and grits.  Simmer, covered, stirring every 5 minutes for 20 minutes.

While the grits cook, in a large skillet cook the bacon until crisp.  Remove from the skillet to drain, then remove all but 2 tbsp of bacon grease from the skillet.

To the same skillet add the butter, garlic, 2 of the green onions, 1/2 cup chicken broth, and shrimp.  Cook 4 to 5 minutes until the shrimp is pink and cooked through.

Stir the cheese into the grits then serve the grits topped with shrimp and crumbled bacon. Add additional salt and pepper to taste and green onion for garnish!
