Fall in love with the soft and slightly sweet Japanese bread! An easy recipe that anyone can make!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:  Milk Unsalted butter Sugar Instant yeast All-purpose flour Salt Eggs Heavy cream

PREP TIME: 30 MINUTES REST TIME: 1 HOUR 30 MINUTES COOK TIME: 30 MINUTES

Whisk together the milk, sugar, melted butter, and yeast in a bowl and set it aside to bloom for 5 to 10 minutes.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt and set aside.

Add the yeast mixture to the flour and stir together until a dough begins to form.

Knead for 5 minutes then oil and cover for 1 hour.

Once the bread has risen, punch it down, then turn out on a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes.

Then, divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.

Roll each portion into a rectangle, then fold over itself twice.  Then roll flat and fold the sides over.

Now, roll this into a cylinder and place into a prepared baking dish.

Let the dough rise another 30 minutes then brush with egg on top and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove from the oven and brush with butter then sprinkle with sugar.

This bread is soft and sweet, the perfect side to any meal or a nice snack with some fresh butter and jam!
