INGREDIENTS NEEDED: – 1 cup shortening (190g) – 1 cup unsalted butter (227g) – 6 cups powdered sugar (690g) – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5ml) – 4 tablespoons heavy cream (45ml)
Start by creaming the butter so it is pale yellow and fluffy. This is easiest with room temperature butter.
Add in the powdered sugar and beat until creamy. Add vanilla extract and milk if needed to thin a bit.
This is a perfect topping to almost any cupcake or cake. Pipe easily into flowers or use to spread between layers of cake!
