Copycat McDonald's Sausage McMuffin Sandwiches

This Copycat McDonald's sausage McMuffin sandwich recipe is so easy to make and a perfect way to start your day!

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp unsalted butter
  • 1 English muffin
  • 1 slice American cheese
  • 2 sausage patties
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper then set aside.
  2. In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Beat the egg with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the egg into the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until mostly cooked. scrambled eggs in skillet
  5. Remove the eggs from the pan and set them aside.
  6. In the same pan, cook the sausage for 3 to 4 minutes per side until cooked through and browned.
  7. Open the English muffins and assemble sandwiches with eggs, sausage, and cheese. Place the top half on the sandwich. English muffins on baking sheet with sausage and egg on some and cheese on others
  8. Place on the baking sheet and bake for 6 to 8 minutes until the cheese is melted and the muffin is heated through.

Substitute bacon, ham, or Canadian bacon in place of the sausage if desired.
